Updated FBA Fees 2024
Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA) is a service that allows third-party sellers to store their products in Amazon's fulfillment centers. Amazon takes care of storage, packaging, shipping, and customer service on behalf of the sellers. In return for these services, sellers are charged FBA fees.
As of 2024, there have been updates on the FBA fees for Amazon. You can find a more detailed breakdown of the updated FBA fees here.
Here is a quick rundown of the updates:
FBA Fees
Effective February 5, 2024, Amazon will introduce updated rate cards with more detailed pricing for standard-sized products and new size tiers for large bulky and extra-large items.
Starting April 15, 2024, Amazon will implement reduced FBA fulfillment fees for standard-sized and large bulky products. The following chart outlines the revised rates and size categories that will take effect from February 5, 2024, and the adjusted rates starting April 15, 2024.
FBA Storage Fees
Amazon has announced that starting April 1, 2024, the monthly storage fees for standard-size products during off-peak months (January-September) will be decreased by $0.09 per cubic foot. This adjustment will be visible in the storage charges billed in May 2024 for inventory stored in April 2024.
No modifications will be made to off-peak storage fees for large, bulky, or extra-large (formerly oversized) products, nor will peak monthly storage fees for standard-size, large, bulky, and extra-large products be changed.
Monthly Storage Fee
Starting April 1, 2024, Amazon will introduce more detailed fee tiers for the storage utilization surcharge. This surcharge will apply to Professional sellers whose storage utilization ratio exceeds 22 weeks. Inventory aged between 0 and 30 days will be exempt from this surcharge. These changes will be reflected in the storage charges billed in May 2024 for inventory stored in April 2024.
Low-level Inventory Fee
Starting April 1, 2024, Amazon will implement a new fee for standard-sized products that have consistently low inventory compared to customer demand.
Amazon states that maintaining low inventory relative to sales volume hampers their distribution capabilities across their network, leading to slower delivery speeds and higher shipping costs.
FBA inbound placement service fee
Starting from March 1, 2024, Amazon will introduce a new FBA inbound placement service fee applicable to standard and large bulky-sized products. This fee adjustment aims to cover the expenses of distributing inventory to fulfillment centers near customers.
